Opinion: League by zones best option for Nigeria judo federation.

Considering the fact that local judo tournaments in Nigeria is like a fest that has no date. As a matter of fact, the last national championship hosted by the Nigeria judo federation was the All African games trials in Lagos, 2019. Since then there as being no national championship held till date.

However, this challenge is probably due to scarcity of funds. If a zonal league system is introduced, it will help Cushion the effects of financial challenges faced by the federation as it is a very cheap system to run.

To run this system successfully with little amount,  clubs, states, military and para military are to pay a little amount of money as registration fee, and hosting clubs will be in charge of the logistics and and all participating clubs will be saddled with the responsibility paying athletes and staffs.

David Dare Joseph  Nigeria heavy weight champion

After a successful season, best two judokas by zone in each weight categories from the zone should be selected for the league finals. By so doing judo in Nigeria will wear a new look.
