Science not tradition: The way out to a progressive Nigeria Judo System Part 1

The general view of judo in the world has changed from its ancient and traditional method  to a more technological and scientific method. Over the years there has been developments of analytic software, statistical tools and also series of researches that has led to the discovery of hidden judo mysteries. 

Based on the forgoing, the Nigeria Judo Federation needs a study group that will help conduct research on how to develop judo in the country.  

Judo in Nigeria still follows the ancient pattern of training, match analysis , refereeing and administration. It will be of a high importance if science could be incorporated into the Nigeria Judo system as Judoka will have access to; 

NGR judokas at the commonwealth games trials

1. A more scientific Training methodology : From past experiences, the training program of the Nigeria judo Federation till date is still as of the 1980s without considering the changes in judokas physiological, psychological and motor abilities 

2. Post competition video profile: At the end of every competition the judokas through the help of the media team can have access to their competition videos that will help them build their social media fans , make relevant correction and create memories.

 

3. Pre and Post competition match analysis:  Beyond a coach telling his or her judoka with mouth how to go about his or her contest, the federation should have team of analyst that will be able to forecast the possible outcome of a competition based on the results gotten from the interpretation of data collated from the previous competition.
