Former National Judo Champion Segun Gbayi eyeing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency seat.

Judo is literally a way of life where you get to subdue, control and embrace a very strong leadership spirit. As judokas, they are thought not just to display this on the tatami , but also in other aspects of life. However, it requires a very special skill to be successful on and off the tatami. 

Segun Gbayi . 

Running over the hurdles on the tatami as a competitor, Segun Gbayi was national -100kg judo champion for so many years before retirement from competitive Judo, prior to his retirement, he was the judo team captain of Obafemi Awolowo University judo club. In 2009, his unique leadership skills paved way for him to become the Team Ogun General Captain. Furthermore, Segun Gbayi rose from a team captain to the position of The Athletes representative on the board of Nigeria Judo federation from 2013-2017. Due to his level on intelligence, he was made the chairman marketing committee on that same board.

  After  successful competition  years, in 2016 He was appointed as the Chairman of the Ogun State Judo Association which he still holds till date,  he is currently the chairman Ogun State Sports Veterans Association and also a board member Brampton Judo club in Canada. He is also the chairman exotic sport limited which is Canada based sport company. This young man has pioneered a lot of developing and developed Which one of them is the Gbayi Judo Foundation a Nigeria based sport non profit making organization that carter for the needs of upcoming judokas in the four walls of Nigeria. 

 However, all this achievements and success recorded in sports could also be replicated in the political arena. Come 2023 general elections,  Segun Gbayi will be contesting as a member of the national house of representatives, representing Lagos mainland federal constituency.  

Furthermore, during his competition days, he competed free and fair(without any form for negative aids), and has also promised to replicate contesting in a free and fair elections as this will be the best option anyone in the political arena should make.
